What Is AnswerFirst? Understanding What We Do

AnswerFirst is a 24/7 call service. We serve thousands of clients across dozens of industries, and we’ve been operating in the industry since 1998. But we do more than just answer phone calls.

We provide a wide variety of call answering services. For example, companies may hire AnswerFirst to act as a “virtual receptionist,” forwarding calls to relevant contacts, taking notes, scheduling meetings and appointments, and for other such purposes. A Customer Service Professional (CSP) would be responsible for handling all of these tasks in accordance with the guidelines provided by the client.

Or, a company may choose us to provide basic customer support services, to process customer returns from an eCommerce store, or to provide basic technical support. The specifics of what we do vary for each company – so no two calls are exactly the same!

If you want more information about what we do and how our business works, feel free to browse AnswerFirst’s corporate website, and see why AnswerFirst is trusted by thousands of businesses around the globe.

Why We’re Hiring – Explaining The Customer Service Professional (CSP) Role

Now that you know what AnswerFirst does, let’s explain the Customer Service Professional (CSP) role in a bit more detail.

CSPs are responsible for handling inbound phone calls from a variety of different business partners. In your role as a CSP, you’re expected to handle these phone calls with care and professionalism. In your role, you must be able to handle tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Answering phone calls
  • Taking messages and orders
  • Opening support tickets
  • Scheduling appointments and managing calendars
  • Notifying business partners of emergencies
  • Processing and handling a variety of business processes, such as parcel returns
  • Providing support via chat
  • Processing requests via email

CSPs are expected to be able to work independently for extended periods of time. To be a good CSP, you must be an active listener, empathetic, and have the ability to follow a variety of scripts and instructions, which may differ depending on each phone call.

You must also be able to capture information accurately, consistently provide an excellent customer service experience, and represent AnswerFirst’s clients well by maintaining a professional, positive attitude at all times. In addition, you must be tech-savvy enough to navigate computer issues and connectivity issues.

The Benefits Of Working From Home With AnswerFirst

Wondering why you should consider working from home in Alaska or any other area where we’re recruiting Customer Service Professionals? Here are just a few benefits of working from home in your state.

  • No commute – The average commute in the United States is more than 23 minutes. By choosing to work from home in Florida or your state with AnswerFirst, you can save up to 45 minutes or more per day – and spend that time doing something more productive than driving to or from the office.
  • Flexible scheduling – At AnswerFirst, we offer 24/7 call answering services. That means that we offer more than standard 9-5 shifts. We can schedule you for shorter blocks of time, for late-night shifts, and provide many other scheduling options that fit your lifestyle. Whether you’re a night owl, a student, or a parent, we can work with you to create a work schedule that’s right for you.
  • No dress code – We expect all of our CSPs to remain professional when answering the phone, of course, but there’s still no dress code required to work from home in Delaware or any other state with AnswerFirst. You can stay comfortable, and you don’t have to spend a bunch of money on a new wardrobe.
